It all started with the suggestion to carpool to Boston from Providence—
Rhody Q started as a dream between two friends, who met in pursuit of burlesque and decided they were just going to keep hanging out.
There are a couple of things that have led us to think up Rhody Q:
Living in Rhode Island and having to commute to Boston for burlesque events and shows all the time (which seems so easy on paper and quickly gets old).
Loving burlesque history and stories in a not-at-all-obsessive way.
Wanting to create a space and events for performers to always feel comfortable, safe, valued, and empowered. Burlesque is an incredibly personal and vulnerable art and performers should never compromise their value or aesthetic for performances.
Rhody Q is on a mission to increase burlesque presence in Providence and Rhode Island, create networking and meet-up events to strengthen community bonds, and record burlesque history of Massachusetts and Rhode Island so stories don’t get lost.

The name is so nice you gotta’ say it twice – Lopez La Lopez (she/her) is a Latina performer based in Providence, Rhode Island. She specializes in fabulous fan dancing and loves all things glamour. She’s passionate about burlesque history and is dedicated to the research and preservation of this beautiful craft.
FUN THINGS:
What Muppet do you identify with? If Beaker & Miss Piggy had a child, that would be me.
Dream act? Dressing as an inflatable Garfield and downing a whole lasagna on stage. But, I’m not sure about the logistics of that one.
What’s one thing people should know about you? I have no shame in showing you a million photos of my two French bulldogs.

When she’s good she’s good when she’s bad she’s better— Odette Goode (she/her) is a MA native turned RI resident who has always been a big history nerd that is also obsessed with sparkly dance costumes. She enjoys taking her sweet time getting her stockings off and making oddly specific playlists.
